The Walk A Mile In My Shoes collection was launched in June 2021 as a response to the global outcry against systemic racism and social injustice. Sabrina & Idris Elba and Christian Louboutin collaborated to imagine a dedicated capsule collection of shoes & leather goods for men and women from which 100% of the proceeds from sales are donated to organisations supporting social equality across the world. In just two years, the initiative helped raise $2 million. This season, the donation will go to six charities: The Gathering For Justice, Elman Peace, Immediate Theatre, The Raining Season, Casa 93, and AfriKids.

Collection inspirations

Co-designed by Sabrina, Idris and Christian, the inspiration behind this season is a print that  incorporates the WAMIMS acronym into its colourful pattern, an hommage to the codes and colours associated with their origins. Braiding hair is a beautiful and identifiable form of self-expression for many people, but for the trio it is also symbolic of the bond of their strong friendship.

The three of us have such separate identities, but with Walk A Mile In My Shoes, our vision is stronger when connected, which is beautifully symbolised by the braid. - Sabrina Elba

Charities and programs

Instigating meaningful change and measuring the genuine impact of the donation was at the heart of the initiative for the trio. The donation will support  six remarkable organisations who received a past donation from the initiative. GlobalGiving receives all proceeds from the WAMIMS collection, then distributes to the 6 charities, under the name Walk A Mile In My Shoes Fund.

The 2002SL Low men’s sneaker is re-imagined featuring the WAMIMS print, but its name is a reference to Idris’s personal life with the date of birth of his daughter and his origins in Sierra Leone. The Fatima 120 and Hibaq 55 are named after Sabrina's sisters.
